Drugs use in chile

This social, documentary and bibliographic research aims at an interpretative analysis of drugs use in Chile. The study covers the most consumed drugs in that country, analyzes public policy actions and emphasizes contradictions in this question. To integrate the Chilean reality in the international context, the research inquires about drugs consumption and its combat in Latin America and also refers to mass culture, with a view to interpreting the meanings of increased drugs use. In its conclusions, the study shows that it is relevant to consider the symbolic dimension, emphasizing the values and habits that stimulate drugs consumption, with a view to planning actions regarding the question.
