Evaluation of alcoholism propensity among undergraduate nursing students from Dom Bosco Catholic University

This descriptive-quantitative epidemiological study aimed to discover predisposition to alcoholism in first and last-year undergraduate Nursing students from Dom Bosco Catholic University. After the students consent, a sample of 103 students was obtained from the first and fourth year of the course. The screening instrument AUDIT was used as the methodology to evaluate the level of propensity to develop alcoholism. The obtained results identify that the predominance of risk drinking among participating students is considered high (21.36% of the sample), because their score is >; 8, referring to 35.71% of male and 19.10% of female students. This can cause professional and personal damage.
