Author Biography

  • Luciana Teixeira Martinez, University of Coimbra

    PhD candidate in the Post-Colonialism and Global Citizenship Program at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra and a scholarship holder from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Master in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, with the dissertation “The day the past appeared on the horizon of the country of the future: post-colonial times and spaces in the port of Rio de Janeiro”. He has a degree in Social Communication and worked for over ten years as a journalist, most of which he dedicated to covering international politics and culture. He mainly focuses on themes related to post-colonial theories and the memory of colonization in Brazil, and in recent years has carried out more systematic research on the memory of Portuguese colonialism in Portugal and contemporary Brazil through the analysis of cultural objects.
