Resumo

Em Ulisses, de James Joyce, numerosas alusões lúdicas à Odisseia de Homero são combinadas com uma variedade de jogos onomásticos e etimológicos que convidam à consideração, especialmente, do retrato de Molly Bloom e seu marido Leopold Bloom.

  • Patrick O‘Neill, Queen's University

    Patrick O'Neill is an Irish-born professor emeritus of German at Queen's University in Canada. He has written widely on German, English, and comparative literature as well as on aspects of narrative theory and translation studies. His more recent books include Impossible Joyce: Finnegans Wakes (2013), Transforming Kafka: Translation Effects (2014), and Trilingual Joyce: The Anna Livia Variations (2018). The paper “Weaving a Textual Web” was first presented in June 2019 during Bloomsday celebrations at the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Niterói.
