Abstract

This article intends to recover the choices made by Anita Malfatti in her first study trip to Europe in order to understand the field of modern painting in Germany and the position that the artist assumed in relation to it.

    Carlos Pires é Professor Adjunto de Literatura Comparada do Departamento de Ciência da Literatura da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Coordena o Laboratório da Palavra do Programa Avançado de Cultura Contemporânea da UFRJ. Atua de maneira interdisciplinar nos seguintes temas: literatura brasileira, modernismo, artes plásticas, canção popular, ensino de literatura e literatura para crianças.
