Banda Performática, Artist Bands, Interactions between Art and MusicAbstract
The article, which follows on from a previous publication, is part of a wider research which seeks to highlight a facet of the history of Brazilian art, taking into account its interactions with music, particularly samba and rock – a field of studies that is part of the universe of sound art, but here focusing on the productions of artist bands in Brazil and their transit through the circuits of art and music. Artist bands reveal a vibrant aspect of Brazilian experimental art, which incorporates not only the musical elements, but the noise, various locutions, the soundscape of the present time and the performance of non-musicians.
