Abstract

This text captures the photographic production of Claudia Andujar of the late 1950s and early 1960s - even before the work developed with the Yanomami - for an analysis that takes into account the dimension of the chosen subject; its visual representation and the ways of its circulation. By emphasizing these aspects, the goal is to understand how the aesthetic developed by the artist in question is contaminated and thus constituted by discursive criteria aligned with a history of photography forged by institutional mechanisms.
