How to reach the "abstract image" (pictorial scene) that became the 'signature' of the artist, a kind of method or plastic language that properly we recognize as a "Rothko"? This text focuses on one hypothesis that this search is addressed first through a direct expression of subjective states, such as an idea or language of the emotions rather than the representational issues inherited from the tradition.Downloads
