Submissões
To compose each issue, Revista Aspas receives contributions from researchers who hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree, as well as from those currently enrolled in graduate programs at the master’s or doctoral level. It is strongly recommended that submissions be co-authored with doctoral-level supervisors.
Undergraduate students may submit contributions provided they are co-authored with faculty members holding a doctoral degree.
Revista Aspas accepts submissions in the following languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
Submissions are evaluated based on criteria related to format, standardization, relevance to the issue’s theme, relevance, and originality. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Occasionally, the journal may receive contributions from artists and/or professionals related to the Performing Arts whose work is relevant to the theme proposed for the issue. In such cases, submissions must be approved by the Editorial Core responsible for the issue and are subject to the same peer-review criteria.
Conditions for Submission
Articles and other contributions, such as interviews and reviews, must be aligned with the thematic proposal of the issue and with the journal’s editorial guidelines.
Each contributor may submit only one contribution per issue. The publication of contributions by the same author(s) in consecutive issues is not permitted.
Submitted contributions must be original and unpublished, including book chapters, which are not accepted. By authorizing publication, the author(s) grant Revista Aspas the right of first publication.
Feedback on submitted texts will only be provided once the manuscript has been sent to peer reviewers. If the text does not pass the initial screening, Revista Aspas is not obliged to provide a review or feedback.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an external peer review process, ensuring standards of quality, academic rigor, and relevance to the journal’s editorial scope.
Articles submitted in accordance with the journal’s criteria are evaluated by two reviewers under a double-blind system: reviewers do not have access to the authors’ names or affiliations, and authors receive the reviewers’ evaluations without reviewer identification, including within the text and metadata.
Reviewers are professionals with recognized academic training and experience, holding studies, research, and/or publications in the field of Performing Arts, preferably at the doctoral level. Reviewers are selected through registration and/or invitation by the journal’s editorial board.
Articles are sent to reviewers by the editorial team responsible for the issue.
Submissions may be accepted without revisions, accepted with suggested revisions, or rejected.
In cases of divergent evaluations, a third reviewer will be consulted.
The Editorial Core is responsible for deciding whether to invite national or international authors for publication and for communicating this information to the Editorial Team.
The content published in the articles is the sole responsibility of the authors.
Registration in the system and subsequent access via login and password are mandatory for submitting manuscripts and for tracking the editorial process.

Special Issues and Guest Editors
In the case of special issues or dossiers organized with the participation of guest editors, the same editorial procedures applied to regular articles are followed. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the content of the entire journal, including special issues, which must always comply with the journal’s scope.
Articles submitted to special issues are clearly identified as such and undergo editorial supervision equivalent to that of regular articles, including external peer review. The credentials of guest editors are previously verified and approved by the editorial team, and their work is overseen by the Editor-in-Chief or designated members of the Editorial Board.
To ensure the integrity of the evaluation process, submissions authored by guest editors are handled through an independent review process, without any direct editorial interference, and may not exceed 25% of the total number of articles published in the special issue.
