This study intends to discuss women' s presence in a place of power, stating a need to articulate psychology with feminist theories and with citizenship perspectives. Following a brief reference to work about women in leadership positions, different feminist views inherent to women' s representation in politics and in leadership in general will be presented. Finally, through the presentation of in depth interviews, the discourses of some women that already occupy these positions are shown. Further discussion is of utmost importance seeing that our interpretation suggests that the psychological characteristics linked to gender mustn' t be the core of the reasoning for political representation but participation per se.Downloads
