The aim of this paper is to rescue Marxist view about the centrality of labor in the capitalist society while being simultaneously positive and negative. We defend here that this rescue is essential to criticise two formally antagonic perspectives of contemporary process of labor denying: the catastrophic and the optimistic one. Despite the approval these two perspectives have received from distinct public, they are equally mistaken and both fail in simplifying a very complex process. What is necessary to understand nowadays is that, if the contemporary patterns of labor absortion and control are negative to the labor class organization, it simultaneously deepens the capitalism crisis of sociability. Underestimating this contradiction, the defensors of the two criticised perspectives miss the possibility of noticing that what the modernity is putting again is the necessity of a revolutionary reflexion about the fate of the private property.
