Fontes de variação da massa salarial: um exercício para o período 80-82

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the changes in total wages and its distribution, as a consequence of the brazilian adjustment policies carried out after 1980. The model used specifies the sources of variation of the wage bill, with special emphasis in the effects of the legislation of regressive wage adjustment The main conclusion is that, besides the
brazilian wage legislation, there was an increase in wage concentration in the higher class due to market forces and changes in employment structure.
