Abstract

This article is an attempt to analyse the change within a general framework, an then in the specialized factor-augmenting case. Two factor production functions are used in the analysis, but the
main results are generalized to the n factor case. The results obtained point out to the necessity of separating technological change per se from factor substitution, in the analysis of technological change.
