O setor de construção e engenharia e a inserção do Brasil na economia internacional

This paper deals with the following issues: (a) the organizations of the construction and engineering sector (SCE) in Brazil; and (b) the process of the internationalization of production and the international competitiveness of the SCE. Also, the paper presents a set of economic policy issues related to the SCE. A policy of liberalization of the construction industry would have positive effects on the development of infra-structure, balance-of payments adjustment, technology transfer and multilateral trade negotiations.
