The objective of this article is to identify the main
caracteristics of the prevailing pattern of competition in the Brazilian Electronic Complex and to analyse
managerial expectations on changes in such pattern. The article is based on a survey - questionnaire application and open-ended interviews - with Brazilian leading firms. Questions adressed three main issues: expectations of growth, modernization and changes in success factors of competitiveness.
