A gênese do princípio da demanda efetiva em Keynes

Abstract

Keynes’s General Theory rest on the effective demand in contrast with what he called income, or actual demand in his previous writings. Having attempted to relate both variables countless times, Keynes decides to forego any ex-post aggregate. By defining his model entirely in ex-ante terms, the author succeeds in developing a simple model, in which causal relationships are immediate and straight-line. But the author also foregoes all dynamic perspectives, and deliberately waives any other element which affects the general output and employment level. Such level is solely determined by the level of investment, due to the treatment provided. Any attempt to slacken the assumptions initially adopted in Keynes’s model, such as proposed by Kregel, implies however in the indetermination of the very simple relationships existing among macroeconomics aggregates considered as relevant, challenging the very objectives upon which the model rests.
