This article presents some observations on the Real Plan, the plan that has stabilized Brazilian inflation since July 1994. The article has two sections. The first section presents some theoretical observations on
the nature of Brazilian inflation and the background concepts. The second section comments on policy and alternative strategies that the plan has implemented.
