Abstract

Being present in digital social networks is one of the ways that the individual finds to consume, produce and propagate information and participate in the meaning of messages, including those of a political nature in times of election. We emphasize the growth of subjects on the Internet that reach the concept of virtual celebrity and emphasize the growing biographical emphasis in the discourses, which provokes transformations that affect the contemporary subjectivity and reconfigure concepts as public x private . On the occasion of the 2018 Elections and the #EleNão movement in repudiation of candidate Jair Bolsonaro, many fans have garnered a political positioning of their virtual idols over whether they favor or oppose the campaign. With this qualitative research, we aim to observe the publication of the virtual influencer Bruna Vieira, in her Instagram, to understand the reception of her position by the fans and the consequences of exposing her private choice, such as the loss of many subscribers on their content networks.
