Abstract

What is the role of visual arts in contemporary society? How do economic determinations relate to artistic production, distribution, and enjoyment? How do cultural actions foster an aesthetic experience and which sectors of society do they drive? These are some of the questions that mobilize a reflection on the international trends of art in Brazil since 1990, and that guide the cultural sector provoking a phenomenon of increasing visitation in Brazilian history. In this sense, a proposal of this work is to make a preliminary balance on the political aspects, the gains and the themes of the art, as well as to present some information about them, on the blockbuster exposition so that the interfaces are executed in the artistic events with the context contemporary.
