This article reports the creation of a new group of study, the task of which is to collect linguistic data for the identification, analysis and classification of archaic traces of the Portuguese language as preserved along the tracks of the expeditions (bandeiras) through the São Paulo hinterland in the late 17th and throughout the 18th century. Geographically, this research project covers the territory of the following Brazilian states: São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás and Mato Grosso. The aim of this project is to povide evidence of the preservation, in the Brazilian territory, of linguistic strata of Old Portuguese, or else, of 17th century Portuguese, and to supply researchers of the Portuguese language with a linguistic corpus prepared according to scientific criteria.Downloads
