The purpose of this article is to give an account of the reiterative devices (repetition of words and of similar semantic contents) occurring a set of satirical songs (cantigas de escárnio and cantigas de maldizer) from the medieval Galician-Portuguese song collections (cancioneiros). These song give evidence of a group of poets and singers living in close connection with the Iberian courts of the 13th century. These songs are the result of the interpersonal relationships which developed among the members of this group. That is the reason why the conversational tone present in these songs constitute one of their unmistakable characteristics.Downloads
