Textos de escravos no Brasil oitocentista: os tempos de uma ediçãofilológica e de uma antologia comentada de alguns fatos linguísticos

Abstract

The event that leads to the existence of  this paper was the finding of  thirteen texts written by slaves in XIX century Brazil. Those are rare documents because they appear to be, according to frequent historical studies, written by individuals that, for historical-social circumstances, didn’t have access to litteracy. Such documents were edited according to semi-diplomatic criteria, striving to maintain, as much as possible, their original caracteristics. The paper then analyzes above all, phenomena linked to the acquisition of  the written language, such as graphic and graphic-phonic phenomena.
