Francisco de Morais ́ Palmeirim de Inglaterra is the most famous Portuguese romance of chivalry. Beyond the known edited sequence of this work, there is another one that remains unpublished: it is the book we call Crônica de D. Duardos, probably written in the late sixteenth century, which has been preserved only in manuscript copies. The purpose of this paper is to examine the manuscript tradition of the first part od this Crônica in order to prepare the edition of the text.Downloads
