In this article we aim to analyze the drama lived by the characters Maria and the Bird/Amado. We selected scenes from the first season of the series Hoje é dia de Maria. Focusing our attention on these two characters, we have selected a clip of the material to analyze (video and written text) as the corpus for study. With this clip, we emphasize the element of “enchantment” in order to explain the relationships presented and the role of history and memory in the discursive process present in the four episodes of the series. In order to work within the theory of fictional narrative according to French Discourse Analysis, our analysis considers the series script as a literary text (in the sense used by Barthes).Downloads
