This article is about the relations between the processes erosives and sedimentary that occur in mouth of the river São Mateus estuary, located in the municipality of Conceição da Barra, northern coast of the Espírito Santo, and the behavior of the plant species of woods from mangroves such processes. Data were collected between 1996 and 1998 and continue to be monitored until this date, by means of other research under our supervision. The changes of composition mineralogical of the sediments that compose the substratum of mangrove lead to important answers mangrove vegetation, emphasizing the capacity of this type of vegetation be used as bio-indicator the different processes tidal-marine, both those arising from amendments anthropogenic as those who may be linked to raise the level of the sea caused by natural processes.Downloads
