Fairs in middle-sized cities of Amazon: relations delineated from experiences in Marabá-PA, Macapá-AP and Castanhal-PA

The article aims to analyze the insertion of the fairs of Marabá-PA, Macapá-AP and Castanhal-PA in the spatial circuit of production. On the one hand, it presents that fairs in those cities function as a alternative of supply for significant part of population withal they follow their logic of spatial organization. On the other, it shows that fairs produce a dense network of relations between city and region, not only with their network of territorial proximity but with a network of relative proximity. The hypothesis is that one cannot disregard in geographical analysis the role of lower circuit of urban economy at the structuring of the city and its network of relations, as well one cannot abdicate a view for horizontalities.Downloads
