This paper explores the role of small cities in Brazil as regards the relations between urban and rural. We assume that small towns are situated at the confluence of urban and rural. But their role is different and we admit to be possible to establish ideal types of small towns that are capable of making them understandable to us as large and complex network of cities.Downloads
