The water resources have a social value to the human systems as a support condition, resource strictu sensu and as means of production. In both situations, such an association imply the attribution of functions to certain environmental units - defined here as “water resources’ spaces” - endowing a social value to them, too. In the capitalist society, this value is justified, above all, as commodity, which once enrolled in the productive system allows the appropriation of income by the users of those water resources.Downloads
