Abstract

The body is a starting point to reflect on the events that are occurring both in Brazil and won major by so-called "June Days", in protest, the occupation of streets and avenues, in many Brazilian cities, by a significant portion of society. These are actions that, to question the urban reality, indicate the need, still incipient way of a construction project of "another society". However there is no possible project without understanding the fundamentals of this society - that is our task.

    Professora Titular do Departamento de Geografia da Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo. Possui Graduação e Licenciatura em Geografia pela Universidade de São Paulo (1975); título de Mestrado (1979), Doutorado (1987) e Livre-Docência (2000) em Geografia Humana pela Universidade de São Paulo.
