Interaction between users, technology, and computerized document archival management system: theoretical insights

Abstract

Inserted in the context of the transformations brought about by information and communication technologies under the direct influence of the internet and the dissemination of computerized information systems, which marks the Information Age, this bibliographic review research aimed to analyze the main perspectives theoretical findings in the scientific literature on user behavior concerning information security when using computerized document archival management systems, considering the interface between users, machines, and systems. The relevance of these systems and the risks and vulnerabilities to which they are subject were explored, emphasizing the role of users and the issue of information security within the scope of information science and its related phenomena. The analysis showed that the absence of an information security policy implemented in a collaborative, democratic, and accessible manner involving both managers and employees and the lack of awareness among users as active participants in information security initiatives may constitute critical points for information security. Therefore, there remains a substantial gap in the current approach to information security, particularly about the interface between the human beings, machines, and systems. Ensuring the effectiveness and integrity of security measures must further develop the analysis and discussion of these vulnerabilities to strengthen the understanding of this topic in a comprehensive manner. The analysis of the chosen articles showed a higher incidence in information science, with correlations between this area and data science and computer science. Sociocultural aspects also gained relevance, including approaches focused on studying users and their interactions with people, technology, and systems.
