Still alive Dante was widely read and sung on the Italian peninsula, and didn’t take long to appear several anecdotes about the life of the Florentine poet, which involved both his own psychophysical charateristic and his masterpiece, the Comedy. This paper aims to show an example of the spread of the Dantesque poem in the work of a writer of the generation after Dante’s own: Il trecentonovelle by Franco Sacchetti.
