Still without consensus, the term post-truth is closely related to fake news and the information discourse in a broad way, thus impacting our communication on the various digital devices. Considering argumentativeness, in its broad sense, as the foundation of all linguistic exchange, the study presents a perspective on the concept of post-truth and, from it, reflects on its consequences in the argumentative construction. Therefore, five texts are analyzed, of which three are related to the covid-19 pandemic, disseminated on different social networks in April 2020 and identified as “Fake” by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, and two of them circulated in the television electoral during the election campaign for the presidency of Brazil, in October 2022. The analysis demonstrates the impact of the post-truth as an argumentative paradigm, inaugurating a pattern of non-persuasion favored by the exchange between equals. As linguistic-discursive consequences, the appeal to implicit (shared by the interlocutors) and the irrelevance of an argumentative rationality based on semantic logic are observed.
