Mo Dao Zu Shi: adapting a web novel to comics

It aims to analyze the adaptation of the web novel Mo Dao Zu Shi to manhua, Chinese comics, considering the formal aspects of comics language and the Theory of Adaptation’s analysis model proposed by Linda Hutcheon (2011), which also takes into consideration the reception of the works as well as the cultural, historical, and social contexts involved. Samples from scenes of the novel and the comic were taken in order to analyze this work.
