This text promotes a brief reflection on the experience of implementing the new curriculum of the Public Relations Course at the Faculty of Library and Communication (Fabico) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), based on the curricular guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MEC). The report is based on the documental analysis of the minutes produced by Structuring Teaching Center (NDE) and the Graduation Committee (ComGrad), in addition to resolutions, opinions and other official documents, as suggested by Sônia V. Moreira (2009). Finally, the specific experiences of mandatory internship in the public relations course are presented, as well as their contribution to the evaluation of the curriculum and the training of students.
