The objective of this text is to analyze the stranger's experience in the novel Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge by Rainer Maria Rilke through new interpretation perspectives based, for example, on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theories. Living in a foreign metropolis (Paris), which he does not identify with yet, the novel's protagonist, Malte Laurids Brigge, discovers a new inner world through his shock with stranger's experiences in this environment. The revelation of his childhood memories and his ego projection through readings of narratives by others are his methods to search and assert his identity.Downloads
