The purpose of this work is to revisit the psychosexual development period that Freud called latency. We intend to demonstrate based on clinical and theoretical reflections that, far from being a stop-time characterized by the absence of sexuality, this is a key moment for the teenager and adult psychological organization, which requires a great psychic work and leads to great intellectual achievements, a reordering of the personality and an openness to the world. We also intend to point out how the difficulties on the experience of this stage of development appear in clinical manifestations.Downloads
