OVNI Pesquisa is one of the largest Brazilian magazines specialized in the subject of extraterrestrials. Founded in 2018, its manifest aim is to conduct a scientific UFOlogy. The magazine positions itself in direct antagonism to mystical ufology and insists that the most effective way to consolidate its activity is through the use of the scientific method. The launch of the publication coincides with a historical moment in Brazil marked by an intensification in the circulation of conspiracy theories, the spread of fake news and the questioning of scientists in the public arena. The paper asks how the group formed around OVNI Pesquisa navigates this environment. Based on an analysis of the magazine’s first fifteen editions, the text discusses how a UFO collective, a category frequently associated with the conspiracy theories, addresses a context of generalized conspiracy.
