In this article, we present and reflect on an initiative that we have carried out with undergraduate social sciences
students who were taking the compulsory courses for their bachelor’s degree. We of fered them, alongside the course, workshops
for the reading of anthropological texts in the English language. Based on the premise that it is necessary to qualify students for
reading in foreign languages, in this text, we of fer, on the one hand, an account of a pilot teaching experience and, on the other
hand, we seek to contribute to the reflection on the role of the university professors in the academic literacy of our students.
