Abstract

The implementation of the Law 10.639/03, that institutes the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture at schools, besides representing a very important affirmative action also to call attention to a hardly question discussed with focus in the quality of teaching inside Brazilian schools: the formations of teachers. The situation gets more complicated design in order to treat about racial questions. The myth of racial democracy that empires in Brazil, during years, needs to be undone and this deconstruction is a difficult task for those professionals. This research leads with the problematic of the permanent formation of teachers in the perspective of teaching Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture. This way, we reflect about the function of this thematic in the formation of reflexive teachers and in the preparation of them to the construction of practical knowledge. A kind of knowledge that ought to be adequate to treat pedagogically the racial questions in the scholar space.
