Call for Papers: “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Democracy in Brazil”
The Revista de Estudios Brasileños (REB), a biannual publication edited by Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca in collaboration with the Universidade de São Paulo, invites the submission of articles, interviews, and reviews for its 27th issue, scheduled for publication in the first semester of 2026.
REB is an academic reference journal, dynamic and open to all those interested in the complex reality of Brazil from the perspectives of the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Legal Studies. As a specialized platform in Brazilian Studies, and through the publication of original research, REB aims to promote and strengthen academic and scientific debate.
Submission deadline: January 11, 2026.
Sections of the Journal:
- The General Section welcomes articles on Brazil in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Legal Studies. Special consideration will be given to works presenting results of original research projects.
- The Reviews Section accepts texts about books published within the last two years.
- The Interviews Section features conversations with prominent figures from Brazilian culture and international Brazilian studies.
Dossier: “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Democracy in Brazil”
This dossier will be coordinated by Professors Rubens Beçak and Cristina Godoy Bernardo de Oliveira (USP) and will focus on “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Democracy in Brazil.”
The dossier seeks articles that explore the intersection between emerging technologies and their impact on contemporary legal and democratic systems. Contributions should not only identify challenges but also propose innovative solutions and assess existing legislative and judicial responses. We invite academics, jurists, and specialists in technology and public policy to contribute original research analyzing the role of Artificial Intelligence in social and political relations and its consequences for democratic institutions.
