Abstract

The Modernist in Brazil meant a milestone, which marks the end of a period characterized by cultural legacy and conservatism. The Movement Anthropophagic was the synthesis artistic and intellectual of these reflections. This study aims to discuss the contributions and controversies left by the Movement in the context of urbanization and cosmopolitanism in which it emerges in the city of São Paulo
