Abstract

When Fernando de Azevedo was Director of Public Instruction in the Distrito Federal, the years 1927-1930, he intended to organize thew city educational praxis in order to product, in the student, the national, and, inside the schools, the nationality spirit. To realize this politic-educational proposal, he made use of discourses and practices of attachment to the Brazilian tradition, simbolized by the choice of neo-colonial style for schools edification.
