The article presented here is the result of a research from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco which has as a theme: "Law and tourism: a brief analysis of the Law Project 3.118 from 2008 - the Law of Tourism". It had an exploratory feature, since the objective was to know the subject better. The objective of the article is to examine briefly the project inside the Brazilian legal system. The tourism law has not being debated in academy so often in recent years, because there isn't a code of tourism. It is expected that the Law of Tourism brings the necessary legal basis to the tourism development and tourist activity might be dealt with seriousness by the public administration, mainly by the executive. The law could serve to introduce the tourism to the country's lawyers who do not know its particularities.Downloads
