Industrial heritage demystifies World War II legends: a new story for tourism

Remaining industrial heritage can reveal hidden pasts. The interface between Tourism and Heritage, being it material and immaterial, is latent in this research. The research reconstructs the trajectory of a chemical industry in Santa Catarina, Brazil, whose history was part of the Second World War. This reconstitution dialogues with questions to be reviewed, such as generated myths, cultural distances from the time and feelings of nationalism. The War in Ukraine (started in 2022) brought with it looks at the destruction of cultural heritage that is part of the memory of generations, this event reinforces the need for the study related to tourist and historical heritage in order to obtain, in addition to its preservation, historical records of their legacies. The objective of this article focused on the importance of memory to increase the tourist attractiveness of industrial heritage. As a result, the article makes it possible to revisit the German-Brazilian culture of southern Brazil and also demystify Nazi legends.
