Abstract

The book “Desmistificando a IA”, by Dora Kaufman, analyzes the impacts of artificial intelligence on society, disseminating information on the subject and deconstructing exaggerated fears. The author explores everything from the fundamentals of AI, such as neural networks and deep learning, to ethical and social challenges, such as algorithmic bias and transparency. In fact, Kaufman argues that AI does not have its own intelligence, but rather an advanced statistical ability to identify patterns and optimize processes. The work highlights the importance of an interdisciplinary approach, arguing that the critical understanding of technology must involve both professionals in the exact sciences and the humanities.
