The present study proposes to extend attention to the social role of consumption with regard to the pursuit of happiness in contemporary society. To this end, we will be using the episode Nosedive (2016) that belongs to the British Black Mirror series as a source of inspiration, where we will observe the practices that emulate the social mechanisms we seek to consider. We will see that the plot has narratives presented on a mythological surface, but as shown throughout the analysis, denote factual character.
