Leaving our hair in peace: blackness, escrivivência and black feminist thought in the poetry of Cristiane Sobral

In this work, we will undertake an analysis of the poetic work Só por hoje vou deixar o meu cabelo em paz, by the Afro-Brazilian writer Cristiane Sobral. From poems and excerpts that are part of the book, we will establish dialogues between the texts and the concept movement of blackness. We will discuss the role of curly hair as an identity icon and how literary exercise can work for the resinification of this element. We will place Cristiane Sobral's work as a practice of escrevivência (writing of self), in the terms proposed by Evaristo (2020). Finally, we will sign up, Só por hoje vou deixar o meu cabelo em paz in the scope of black feminist thought.
