The text made an effort to conceptualize the "poetics of expropriation" as a process present in literature and images that strips away indigenous identities, while at the same time legitimizing a narrative of territorial expropriation. The work investigates the duality of the concept of territory, highlighting its role in the colonial project, as well as pointing to the territorial resistance informed by this notion. Supported by Antônio Paulo Graça's notion of "poetics of genocide", the text seeks to point out how these poetics perpetuate the symbolic violence suffered by indigenous peoples when claiming their identities and territories usurped by dominant narratives.
