Abstract

Kikia Matcho (1997), fiction work by Filinto de Barros [1942-2011], deserves a rereading for various reasons: a) – because, in the light of its historicity, the book was published under a delicate moment of Guinean national political life; B) - because its existence is also some revealing within the canon of post-colonial literature in Portuguese language; C) – because the book yet, as a purely aesthetic artifact, presents peculiar characteristics and d) - because, fundamentally, the work brings in a tense and contradictory way several manners of representation of Guinean culture. With this in mind, we are going to deal, in this work, in a first stage, about the first three elements, however, aware of the brevity of the analysis and that the respective subjects could be expanded and carried out in separate analyzes. Even so, we justify the presence of the first stage in our writing as, above all, introduction and contextualization of the work of Filinto de Barros so that, in the second stage, the time when we will to discuss the matter of Guinean cultural representation, we do not lose sight of the time and the literary complexity of the work of this black African author.

    Sebastião Marques Cardoso, pós-doutorado em Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP, Brasil), Doutorado em Teoria e História Literária pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP, Brasil), Mestre em Teoria Literária e Literatura Comparada pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP, Brasil). É professor universitário, pesquisador e crítico literário, autor de Poéticas da Mestiçagem: textos sobre culturas literárias e crítica cultural (Curitiba, CRV, 2014), Oswald de Andrade: anti-heroísmo, literatura e crítica (Curitiba, CRV, 2010), João do Rio: espaço, técnica e imaginação literária (Curitiba, CRV, 2011) e do ensaio “Horizontes da crítica literária brasileira contemporânea: Roberto Schwarz e Luiz Costa Lima” de Crítica Literária Contemporânea (VIOLA, Rio de Janeiro, Civilização Brasileira, 2013). No ano de 2009, foi Leitor brasileiro na Embaixada do Brasil em Guiné-Bissau, sob a missão do Embaixador Jorge Geraldo Kadri. Em Bissau, Sebastião Cardoso auxiliou, também, na docência e na administração da Universidade Amílcar Cabral/ Universidade Lusófona da Guiné como Assessor Científico. Trabalha, hoje, como professor Adjunto em Teoria da Literatura do Departamento de Letras Estrangeiras e como pesquisador permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras, mestrado e doutorado, da Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN, Brasil).
