DEPOIS DE UM PERÍODO QUE PODERÍAMOS CHAMAR DE TRANSIÇÃO ENTRE A DÉCADA DE 1950 E O PÓS-25 DE ABRIL, O INÍCIO DA DÉCADA DE 1980 VISLUMBRA AUTORES E, PRINCIPALMENTE, AUTORAS MAIS AUDACIOSAS E MADURAS QUE PROJETAM EM SUAS ESCRITAS UMA OUTRA PERCEPÇÃO DA REALIDADE DE PORTUGAL COM O PIONEIRISMO DE NOVAS SOLUÇÕES LITERÁRIAS. A RECUSA À ALIENAÇÃO E À APATIA HERDADAS DO SALAZARISMO PROMOVE A REVISÃO DESSE PROCESSO SOCIOCULTURAL POR MEIO DAS IMAGENS ONÍRICAS E DA ALEGORIA QUE, A PARTIR DE ENTÃO, SÃO ENCONTRADAS NOS ROMANCES PORTUGUESES.
